You can drill deeper (up to the depth of the inside stop) if you are careful to frequently pull back and clear the swarf from the cut to prevent jamming.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhen cutting steel and other metals use a cutting fluid that is appropriate for the job. Once the teeth make contact with the work piece use constant pressure to avoid jamming and overheating. The spring on the centre drill ejects the disc and can be removed if a deeper cut is required.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTo cut holes in ceramic tiles first drill a pilot hole with a masonry bit, but don't use hammer action or you will smash the tile. Use the TCT hole saw and keep it cool while drilling by spraying it with water (a trigger spray bottle works well). Hand held power drills can be used but it's more difficult, especially when drilling bigger holes.
