GENUINE DREMEL PART
If you can't lock the shaft on your Dremel 3000 or older model 300 rotary tool then you may have worn out the locking pin. This can happen over time with a lot of use and also if you happen to bump the lock button while the machine is running.
To open your Dremel use a long T8 Torx bit. The side labels will also need to be removed (or carefully cut through the middle of the label with a box cutter knife) before the clamshell housing can be split apart.
Once open you will see the locking pin that needs replacing. The lock pin and spring come as a set, it's best to replace both at the same time.
