Description

Knowing the moisture content of a material is important for a variety of reasons. When lining a house the framing must be 18% or less or the Gib plasterboard (R) will 'pop' and ruin the finish as the framing timber dries out later. You might also want to test areas of your home and do comparative tests on various walls or ceilings etc so you can make sure you don't become another victim of 'leaky building syndrome'. And if you're a woodworker you probably want to check the timber for moisture before you buy it.

This is an advanced model moisture meter with two measuring methods.

CONDUCTIVITY MODE
This is the traditional method used by most moisture meters, where the sharp pins of the probe are pushed into the material being measured. This is the most suitable method for checking framing moisture levels before wall linings have been applied because the pins will leave small holes.

ULTRASONIC MODE
Using this mode is very quick and easy. Just hold the front sensor against the surface and it displays the moisture level. There is no intrusion into the surface so it's good for quickly finding 'trouble spots' around a building.
