This part is also known as 'the spline drive'.
This is the part that fits onto the Dremel motor shaft (on older models, see below) and the 'clutch coupling' slides over top. Usually, just the clutch will break, and replacing that will have you going again but sometimes you'll also need to replace this part.
Dremel no longer makes this item but we've had lots of requests so have had these made for us. They do the same job so at least now you don't have to throw away your tool if this is the only part you need.
To get Dremel apart you'll need to remove the 6 screws with a 'Torx' drive, then pop the plastic case apart. It's easy enough to do for the DIY inclined.
Slide the old pinion off the shaft and replace it with the new one. Push it on fully. Reassemble and test. Easy.

NOT for 300, 3000, 400 or 4000 models which are directly driven from the armature.
